To be completely honest, I have been a bit of a stress case the past month or so and decided recently I simply deserve better than that state of existence. To cure myself of such ailment I decided to fall back in love with aspects of life that bring me joy and excitement. I have been indulging in early 2000s indie films, reading, journaling, exploring new shows, digital collaging, and drinking more water all while listening to perfectly curated playlists on Apple Music that feed my inner teenager.
Here’s a few of my favorite cures that I am loving lately…
Saved! is such a slept on indie from 2004- this religious satire creates a lot of ground to open up conversations on the toxicity of religious systems for teenagers as well as finding the meaning the faith. This sci-fi gem caught me by surprise as I was cruised Tubi to find something of interest to watch! We are delving into the subconscious mind in this one in search of healing through various versions one’s self. An absolute mind bending MUST watch that will have you questioning your own reality.Tubi, in general, has been lit! I think I may be a bit late to the party with this streaming service, but I am here now and LOVING all the stellar content- it’s hitting my nostalgia dopamine centers while saving me money and I love that for me.Olivia Dean’s new album- IYKYK and if you don’t… go find out.My Kindle Paperwhite is typically put up due to me preferring physical books over e-books, but recently I have been craving my books on the go and my Paperwhite is ultra lightweight while packing a punch in the book selection department. Long walks at the local state park on my days off have been beyond refreshing, especially as we move into the cooler days of autumn. I am elated to pull out my cold weather thrifted gems to wear while I wander the woods.
