I don’t even know where to begin on describing this day. Magical might be a tad dramatic, but I would say it’s pretty damn close. It was relaxing to wake up in such a comfortable space; the hotel we are staying at is one of a kind and well thought out in regard to execution and decor.

I think I mostly enjoyed the fact that I could slow down enough to start the day taking in everything around me. I took the time to enjoy my breakfast and cold brew, followed by rosin infused pre-roll walk to another coffee shop while it rained. It isn’t often I can start the day so present in every thing I do, so to have that time prior to the convention was a moment worth savoring.
It was also time to enjoy with Mikayla and Maddie before the day went into full swing. They’re both women I admire and cherish deeply, time with them is always well spent.

I am also one of the weird ones that actually enjoys the rain in any capacity; I think it makes everything more beautiful in how it refreshes everything around us and in it’s own way forces us to slow down. Mostly, I like how quiet the world can be when it rains since hardly anyone wants to venture out during such weather.
I stood outside smoking and taking in every iota of life I could see from the hotel entrance. There’s a few restaurants and shops in the immediate area as it sits at an intersection, so there was a lot to look at and enjoy. The light up signs took on a deep but vivid tone in the overcast despite the fact that they weren’t even turned on and it just sort of added to the mood of the day as it started.

I didn’t catch the name of the coffee shop we ventured into, but I was in love with the decor. The exposed brick and piping softened with wooden accents is a theme in this area I suppose, but I appreciated it eccentricities, like an octopus painted on the side of the counter, as well as all the beautiful plants inside. I wish I would have been hungry, their pastries looked scrumptious!
I am glad I didn’t over do it at the start of my day though because MOCann was a lot to take in for the first time. I was relieved it was Jacob’s first time too! He’s our ambassador here in KC; so not only was it comforting to not be the only newbie, but it was also a cool bonding moment for the both of us as co-workers. It’s not often we get to do events together or are even in the same town, we aren’t your typical kind of co-workers. When we get these moments together I appreciate them for a multitude of reasons (the man is crazy smart and a terp encyclopedia), today though I was most thankful that we got to have such an epic first together. We spent the whole day taking it in, swapping stories and information, and then sharing smoke while soaking up the experience. Core memories were made with Jake and I’m hoping that means we’re going to be friends for a long time… I also have a lot of shit I want to learn from him still, so we better be!

I will say, I think I was the earliest tap out from the team. The after party was amazing; Tara did an incredible job with her flight theme! She had passports for all of us to get stamped at the various vendor tables and once your passport was filled you got a goodie bag containing bubble hash holes from Vibe. She also had a claw machine containing 100mg Smokies edibles, bubble hash holes, as well as 1g and 2g resin and rosin concentrates as prizes. I was also sweetly treated by one of my favorite girly pops in the industry, Claire, who works for Gron. My angel made sure I was set up for success with a fresh summer hiking bag, gummy sticky notes, a fresh pen set, and my favorite Gron gummies! I’ve known that beauty since my first year in and she has consistently been the kindest and most supportive woman; seeing her was a delight I did not know I needed yesterday. Before I left to reunite with my hotel bed Mikayla and Maddie made sure I was taken care of as well. They secured me with a fresh rosin, some flower, and pre-rolls to keep the stash box stocked for a bit. I swear… they are the mothers I prayed for!
I was beyond thrilled to jump back into bed because I was sore as fuck from being on my feet all day and the sleep did not last long enough, but it is almost time to go home! I am almost all packed up and about to check out of the hotel. I have one pop stop to make on my way home, then I get to reunite with my mini!!
All in all, it has been an amazing two days in KC to the point where it doesn’t feel real just yet. I guess I’m still processing it all, but until it is fully processed I am just going to keep enjoying my dream.
