Every month for work I spend about 2-3 days traveling the southeast region of the state to visit dispensaries in the area as well as the state-line stores. It is quite literally my favorite weekend of each month because something is always fucking happening in the southeast. More than anything I think it’s enchanted with plethora of spiritual energy; I mean, how can it not when there is a town called Cairo literally within a hour’s drive?! The clouds always look ominous on my drive down for day one. Not in a terrifying way, just a letting itself be known kind of way. I do not mind one bit, I find it to be exciting and mysterious… so it keeps my mental entertained while I drive.

I also love and adore the people; not only the budtenders I get to work with but also the people who come in shopping. I am abundantly aware that my belief system may clash with a multitude of peoples’ down there, but in the small moments of interacting with them they display such genuine kindness and I am always eternally grateful for that.
During this month’s trip I scored BIG time! First, I found out about this new to Missouri cannabis brand called Miss Grass. The dispensary I was popped up at was carrying their pre-roll packs and the packaging caught my eye. When I inquired with the team about the brand a budtender told me how much he enjoyed that the pre-rolls were a blend of four strains that were terpene focused for a specific mood or time of day. I bought a pack to try them out and was absolutely delighted with how much I enjoyed them that I ended up purchasing two more. The packs I tried were labeled Fast Times (sativa) and All Times (hybrid); each pack has five 0.4g pre-rolls inside of it (equates to 2g) and there is a slot that holds that pack of matches that is supposed to come with each purchase.

The Fast Times included a four strain blend of Green Crack, Durban Poison, Voodoo Fritters, and Member Berries; with this particular blend there is a terpene focus on b-Caryophyllene, Linalool, y-Terpineol, a-Terpineol, and a-Humulene. Sativas can be tricky for me because of my ADHD, sometimes the uppityness can trigger my anxiety. What surprised me about this blend was that I was hyper-focused but comfortable in my body the whole time. The All Times consisted of Jungle Pie, Blue Zushi, The Queen, and Mod Banana; with this blend the terpene focus was on b-Caryophyllene, Linalool, a-Humulene, Bisabolol, y-Terpineol, a-Terpineol, and Fenchol. A 0.4g from this pack was the RIGHT amount for me because DAMN did my body just start vibing; I wasn’t exactly energetic (although I was still able to get my EOD forms turned in and next day prep), but I wasn’t couch locked either. I was just flowing. And I love that. The last new product I tried was Whapplz by Packs (so your lovely Robust Cannabis family) which is a cross of two core strains that our brand features, Whipz and Apples and Bananas. When I tell you I was a giggle-bot over who knows what in the car that day, I mean it was just absolutely ridiculous in the silliest ways! I was so happy and on cloud nine the entire high. I also deeply appreciated the physical relief I felt in my lower back and hip as I was driving; it tends to be a sensitive spot for me because being in seated driving position 90% of your week does not feel the greatest for those particular areas of my body. I was beyond comfortable while jamming to my playlist in between pop ins at the state-line stores.

So yeah, super impressed with these little packs and am hoping to see them in dispensaries closer to home sooner rather than later. In addition to these fun little cannabis finds, I finally ventured into the flea market and thrift store I have had my eye on for quite some time. They were an absolute treasure trove! I found the perfect fit Adidas sweatpants, a vintage fur coat, a Blockbuster pin, leather Cats bag (for $2!), a linen knit Elieene Fischer top, And Other Stories lightweight wool top, and a fitted cashmere cardigan. All of which aligned with my fashion inspo mood board I created a few weeks back!
I did feel called to finish my weekend with one more thrift run after I got back in town and lucked out even more with some gorgeous finds, most of which are high quality fabric that I am looking forward into incorporating into my transition wardrobe as I push past this last gust of winter. I’m definitely going to get on top of getting some of these new pieces that are dry clean only cleaned for real so that I can do a respectable try on video and photo sesh. I am just so fucking proud of my finds recently, they excite me and it is so great to feel excited about fashion again!

I am also thankful that I took space for myself today and made a morning out of my thrift run. I woke up early and went to the dispensary as soon as it opened to pick up a vape then stopped by my favorite local coffee shop for a hot coffee and something sweet while I waited for the shops to open. It felt good to go slow and just watch the snow pass for a bit. The roads were also too icy to move anywhere, so in her own way Serendipity made it known that today was meant for me and I remain humbly grateful for life’s sweet gifts.
